Demonstrative
PRONOUNS: DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUN
Demonstrative Pronouns are only used as nouns, if the noun itself is not mentioned.
✓ They can be declined.
✓ They have plural forms, which can also be declined.

The plural auxiliaries and plural nouns are used with demonstrative pronouns.
In modern Armenian the pronoun դա is used to mean it.

DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUNS FUNCTIONING AS ADJECTIVE.
Այս-this |
Is used to refer to nouns that are closed to the speaker in time or space. |
Այդ-that |
Is used to refer to nouns that are not close to the speaker. |
Այն –that one over there |
Is used to refer to nouns that are even farther away. |
These demonstrative adjectives can be used with both singular and plural nouns.
Այս գիրքը- this book
Այս գրքերը-these books
Այն is used to mean both this and these.
