I have been at my company about 5 years. I have been promoted twice during that period.

Do you have to work long hours?

Yes. I have to work a long day. I start at 7 in the morning and often do not leave the office before 7 at night.

You must be very busy. What do you do?

I am in the field of financial management. We look after people's money for them. Even though I do not like my job, I do not think I would like to work 12 hours a day.

To be successful you have to work hard. You get out what you put in, as they say.

Even if you paid me twice as much money as I make now, I would not want to work that hard. I could never work that hard.

Well, I guess you have to decide whether you want more responsibility or not.

I know. I really need to think about my future. I need to decide what I really want in life.

You are still young. You enjoy doing sports and going out with friends. However, if you are unhappy at work you might have to make a change.

I guess I have to make a choice. I cannot have it both ways. I never seem to know what I want.

Yeah. Sometimes you have to decide what you want out of life and then stick with your decision.

The food was very good. Are you going to have some coffee?

Yeah. I think I will have some coffee. I have enjoyed the meal and I have enjoyed our little discussion. I think it has helped me.

It does not matter what you do in life. Whatever you do you should try to enjoy it.

That is easier said than done.
