Recreational Sports, Part 2

Part 2

Steve: And what position do you play?

Stephen: I play defense.

Steve: OK. And soccer is a game where you have to do a lot of running.

Stephen:That's right. Steve: And have you played ever since you were a little boy?

Stephen: I played from about the age of nine to sixteen, and then I hadn't played for about twenty years and took it up again last year. Steve: It's fun to play sports when you're older. In my own case, I still play old-timers' hockey. Stephen: Right.

Steve: It's a league for people fifty-five and older. Of course, it's fun to play the game but it's also fun to sit in the dressing room and have a beer. Stephen: That's right. Steve: And talk about the game afterwards.

Stephen: That's the whole idea behind our team. Our captain, who formed our team last year, he had played on other teams before and he wanted a team that was a little bit more about fun than winning.

Steve: Um-hmm.

Stephen: And that's why he named it the "Comrades". Steve: And now in soccer there's what, eleven or twelve people? Stephen: Eleven. Including the keeper.
