What's New at the Linguist, Linguist Newsletter, May 2007

There haven'’t been any improvements at TheLinguist as we continue working full out on LingQ. We do apologize but we promise that it will be worth it when LingQ is finally complete. Many of you who have been Beta testing LingQ are appreciating the many improvements in the new system, even though only the input activities have been made available.

For those of you who took a look at LingQ and had trouble because there was no help, you can now find many FAQ’s and flash video demos at the LingQCentral blog (http://thelinguist.blogs.com/lingqcentral/). You can also stay up to date on what is new with LingQ at LingQCentral by visiting the blog regularly or by subscribing by email or by RSS to the Updates feed.

For those of you waiting to get access to LingQ, we’re still not ready for you. Sorry about that! If you haven’'t already left us your email at www.lingq.com, please do so. We will contact you as soon as the full Beta is available. Right now our Beta is only available to active members of TheLinguist. We do hope to be able to add new Beta users within a month and to have our LingQ launch shortly after that.

One thing I do want to remind you of, is to either work on your input activities in LingQ or in TheLinguist but not in both. This is because at some point you will have to choose whether to keep your data from TheLinguist or your data from LingQ. Your data from TheLinguist was transferred over when we began the Beta period and if you then started working in LingQ, then you have all your data. If, however, you continued working in TheLinguist, we will have to transfer your data again at some point. This means that any data in LingQ will be replaced. Conversely, if you are happy with your data in LingQ, we won’t transfer your data from TheLinguist again.
