What's New at the Linguist, Linguist Update: System Update September 2004

In September we completely redesigned our front page and all informational pages. We also redesigned the system pages themselves and introduced some new, more lively design elements. We think the new look and feel of the site is a major enhancement to The Linguist and marks a major milestone in our development.

For a number of reasons our previous front pages were not as successful as we wanted. Our new front pages were designed to correct these problems. To begin with our site now has a much more professional feel to it. As well, we have added a lot more information about the system, about the company, about our staff, and information on the services we provide. Our new pricing structure should be much clearer than our previous structure. One thing we have found is that the more people understand our methodology and the reasons behind it, the better they do on the system. So we now explain the basis of our system in detail.

In the system itself we have redesigned the look and feel, putting the main menu bar on top and moving all help features to the right hand side. In addition you will notice Steve's caricature dressed in the national costume of the user's native language. We hope you like this caricature as much as we do. Please go to My Account and adjust your native language to look at the different caricatures for each language.

On another note The Linguist book seems to be selling very well in Taiwan and Hong Kong, judging by the number of people registering from those countries who have purchased the book. Welcome to all those users who have come to us after buying the book. For those of you who haven't read the book, we highly recommend that you do so. The book is very effective at explaining the reasons behind our methodology and users who have read it tend to perform better on our system.
