What's New at the Linguist, March 2006

We have made two significant enhancements to The Linguist this past month. Of course, our regular visitors don't need to look too far to find the first major change. We have redone our front page design! While much of the layout is similar to our previous layout, we have polished up our previous design. In addition, we have added many more useful links to testimonials, our learner of the month, news releases, blog posts, podcasts, member writing samples and more.

The new design and additional insight into our Linguist Community will hopefully persuade new visitors to sign up for our free trial and find out what our members already know. That our system is great, it's fun and it works! Our members will also enjoy the additional links which will help them to learn more about the other members of The Linguist Community.

The other significant change we have made, which we have just launched today, is our new interactive Task List. One complaint we have often heard from new members is that they have difficulty understanding where to begin and in what sequence to continue. Our previous Task List gave rough guidelines and then allowed members to make their own way. Members who like this approach are still more than welcome to continue studying in this way.

For those of you who prefer a more structured approach, however, we have developed our interactive Task List. You will see the Task List when you first log in and the current assignment that you are working on. For each new assignment you will see a list of tasks that must be completed and ticked off on the Task List. Work your way systematically through the tasks and when you are done you will receive a new assignment.

People have different ways to study and by introducing the new Task List we are appealing to those of you who prefer to follow a step-by-step approach to things. We know you're out there! Just as we know there are many of you who prefer doing things your own way. The most important thing is that you do what works best for you and enjoy what you're doing. Let us know what you think of our new design and Task List.
