Emma's Students Stories, My Parrot by Jack

This is my parrot. My parrot is cool and handsome. My parrot has red, green, and blue feathers on its wings. It looks like a rainbow bird, except that it doesn't have the colors orange, yellow, indigo and purple on it. I say to my parrot, “Tweet!” I am surprised. My parrot can talk! So, I teach it some more. I say “YA.” The parrot says “YA! Thank you!” I am amazed. I didn't teach it that, but it can say “Thank you,” anyways. The parrot says “What do you think?” I get scared. I say “Um, nothing!” The parrot says “I want to go to the park? Okay?” I say “No problem.” So, I bring my pet to the park. An old man meets me and says “hello.” The parrot says “hello.” The old man is scared, too. He says “your pet can talk. Wow! It's magical.” The old man hadn't seen a parrot like that before. He walks home. I play a game with my parrot. The parrot says, “It's fun.” I say, “It's fun for me too!” Afterwards, the parrot decides it wants a drink of water and to eat some food. I quickly run home. I get a cup of water and some food. The parrot drinks the water and eats the food. It is happy. It flies to my hand. My hand now hurts a little, because the parrot's feet are very pointy. I'm very happy, though, because I think my parrot is a good first bird.
