Do you enjoy your job?
Not really.
Why don't you enjoy your job? I do not enjoy my job because I do not get along with my boss.
Why don't you get along with your boss? I don't get along with him because he does not give me the freedom to do my job the way I want. That can be a problem. Is it because he does not trust you?
That is possible. I do try my best but he does not seem to like me.
How do you know that?
Whatever I say he disagrees with me. Sometimes he does not know much about the nature of my work, yet he still criticizes me. Whatever I do is not good enough for him.
Maybe you should change jobs.
I have thought about it. Maybe I should. But it is not that easy. Therefore I just sort of stay where I am and complain, like I am doing now.
Do you think you could find a better job?
Maybe I could. Maybe I should try. Probably I do not have enough get up and go. I probably lack confidence. I need to believe in myself more.
I wonder whether you should not see someone who could help you.
Do you know someone who could help me?
There is a company I know which helps people choose the right career for themselves. You could go and see them. Here is their business card.
I might do that. Thanks. Whether or not I go to see them, I really should think about my future. Right now I do not look forward to work every day. That is sad.
I am quite happy in my job. I get to travel a lot, which I enjoy. I have a lot of freedom too.
