What's New at the Linguist, September 2006

We're heading into fall here at The Linguist offices in Vancouver. We have had a beautiful summer and it doesn't seem like it's going to end anytime soon. I hope all of you are also still enjoying what's left of your summer. (As usual, those of you who live in the Southern Hemisphere can ignore my weather related comments!)

We've had a number of changes at The Linguist since we last sent out our newsletter. First of all, we've changed the system that we use to send out our newsletter. All of you who have been newsletter subscribers for a while, should have received an email where you were asked to reconfirm your wish to receive The Linguist Digest. If you haven't done so, please make sure to sign up again using the subscription form on this newsletter. Many of you will obviously also notice that we have updated the design of our newsletter to better match our website. I'm sure you will agree that the look is much improved. In the last month or so we've also added five new tutors to our event schedule. John Attard, originally from Malta now living in Vancouver, Julie Mockerman who is from Michigan in the United States, Carolyn Sinclair who is living in Ireland, Graeme Houston who is in Malaysia and Tammy White, who happens to be Tracey's sister, who will also be living in Newfoundland, Canada. If you haven't already spoken with some or all of these new Linguist Tutors, sign up and get to know them today. As we increase our membership we want to make sure that you always find enough interesting Linguist tutors to talk to. Speaking of members, our Member-Guest promotion which we offered a few weeks ago has been very well received. Many of you have taken advantage of the opportunity to give three friends a free month on The Linguist to try it out. If you haven't done so already, make sure to let us know if you want to take advantage of this program. Finally, just a reminder that for more regular updates on The Linguist make sure to visit our community blog at, http://thelinguist.blogs.com/the_linguist_community_bl/.
